Revitalization Plan of Peer supporter Activities for employment support of the people with severe disabilities

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate revitalization plan of the employment support business for people with severe disabilities through peer supporter activities.
To this purpose, this study progressed FGI with 29 persons and in-depth interviews with 5 persons. The research results derived through this process were as follows. First, the project participants positively perceived the activities of peer supporters. However, it was found that the ability of peer supporters was limited due to the lack of understanding of employment support project for people with severe disabilities and lack of education and training on peer supporert, making it difficult to operate the project. Second, in relation to project operation, the pay system for peer supporters was unrealistic, and the lack of communication between government agencies and project execution organizations was found to be a problem, and the connection to employment, which is the project outcome, was found to be ambiguous. Accordingly, it was found that realistic budget support, continuous education and training of peer supporters, establishment and supporter of supervisor roles, and establishment of a cooperative system between government agencies and project execution agencies were necessary for smooth operation of the project.
